WHAT IS

CANNABIS?

Cannabis is a plant native to Asia with a long history of therapeutic use. Approximately 500 chemical compounds have been identified in it: some exclusive to the plant, cannabinoids; others with a lot of presence in the plant kingdom, such as terpenes and flavonoids. Used medicinally for millennia, it is not until the 90s when it begins to be elucidated how these components act in the human organism. Clinical trials and observational studies have shown its usefulness in reducing pain, anxiety, and stress or alleviating symptoms and promoting well-being in neurological conditions, cancer, among many other diseases and pathologies.

Below you will find the most relevant information about cannabis, its benefits, and the types of therapeutic cannabis. Information based on numerous clinical investigations that support its use as a natural alternative to drugs, a safe and effective substance that can improve the quality of life of patients. We also talk about the legal aspects of cannabis therapy.

CATEGORIES OF CANNABIS

Although there are thousands of different strains of cannabis, all of them have a genetic base of at least one of the three species that make up the genus of cannabis. These species are Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid.

Each species has its own distinctive traits - both in the grow room and in the final product; And knowing them will allow you to make informed decisions regarding what you want or will expect from its use.

It's the best of both worlds a , so we can find effects for both the body and the mind.

TERPENES

Terpenes, both created and secreted by the same glands that produce CBD and THC, are the essential oils that give cannabis a diversity of signature scents, including pine, mint, berry, and so on. But marijuana isn't the only plant that contains terpenes. In fact, terpenes also produce fragrant oils for several other different flowers and medicinal plants, as well as fruits, vegetables, and numerous herbs and spices. These same oils are even used extensively in perfumery and alternative medicines like aromatherapy.

CANNABINOIDS

The cannabis plant has a lot to offer, and one of its most coveted traits is that it has several cannabinoids, which we can enjoy ourselves. These cannabinoids are the chemicals that give the plant its therapeutic and recreational value. Cannabinoids such as CBD and THC react with our body's receptors, causing a wide variety of responses, such as relaxation, euphoria, or drowsiness.

How do these cannabinoids interact with our bodies? What is its chemical composition? and what benefits and side effects do they have? This section answers all those questions. Dive into it to look at these extraordinary compounds.

It is a cannabinoid molecule in cannabis that's long been recognized as the main psychoactive ingredient

CBG

Stands for cannabigerol and is currently being studied for its potential pharmacological properties

CBD

Also reconigzed as cannabidiol,  providing relief for anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

WHAT ARE
TRICHOMAS?

Like many other parts of the plant, trichomes have more than one function. They contain many desirable compounds (often in the form of a viscous resin), but they also have important functions in plant defense.
